A trip to the biscuit factory

Today we made a long awaited trip to Kambly - a famous (in Switzerland at least) biscuit factory.

It was great, and I could probably write lots about it, but tomorrow we are off on holiday, and because I spent the entire day at a biscuit factory today (another moment of super time management on my part), there is a house to be cleaned, and packing to be done.
So here is a rough summary of our day.

We caught 3 trains to get to Kambly, including the special Kambly train. The girls were super excited when we boarded this one.

Inside the factory there was unlimited free biscuit tasting. Take it from me - even if you thought there was never such as thing as too many biscuits - there is. As we boarded the train to go home Sofie looked up at me and said;
'Mummy, do you feel a bit sick?'
I told her I did, and she said, 'me too, but I am SO going to work at Kambly when I am a grown up'.

Emily ran around and ate a lot of biscuits.
She also obsessed over a train shaped biscuit tin. So much so that she went and asked a shop assistant where she could get a train shaped tin (Emily never voluntarily interacts with strangers, and certainly never in German). She seriously wanted that tin.
Sofie joined the childrens' workshop making - guess what - biscuits, and made a rather fancy gingerbread house from scratch. 10 out f 10 to Kambly for attempting such a feat with 12 children under the age of ten for the meager sum of CHF 5 per child.

It was a great place to visit, and we bought a lot of biscuits. I'm off to pack some of those aforementioned biscuits for the friends and family we are going to visit.
See you in a week or so.

  1. Silently laughing at the idea that you reached that too-many-biscuit point. What a great day out. I love the idea that they laid on such a great children's activity.

    Happy New Year and I hope you enjoyed your time away.
